Bet you haven't thought of playing frisbee as a fitness sport. Think about it. With the frisbee you use arm and wrist movements, run and jump. I can recall many times playing frisbee on the beach and raising my heart rate to a training level. If you play long and hard you may even feel it in your muscles the following day. Trust me!
Frisbee as a fitness sport can be played on a golf course. Have you seen those discs that are thrown into waist high metal rings? Those are for golf frisbee. Our local neighborhood park has this set up. It is a challenging game to play. Those metal rings in which the frisbee is to be tossed are spaced pretty far apart. It takes a lot of practice to become even close to proficient at this fitness sport.
Does this change your thoughts about the frisbee as a fitness sport? Anything that gets you up, off your seat and moving is good. If it can be something fun like frisbee then what is there to hold you back? |
