A Long First Night In New Camping Tent |

Last weekend was a special time for my son and my husband. Well, at least it was suppose to be. My son and he have been camping for several years together and this past weekend was going to be first time he was alone in his own camping tent. They usually double up in my husbands tent, but as our son gets a little older, and bigger, my husbands camping tent was getting a little crowded. Now that he is 12 years old, we both thought it would be a good idea for him to have his own tent. At least that was the idea.
We spent some time looking for a good camping tent for him online. I feel that shopping online gives you a greater selection than being limited to offline stores. After looking at a few different websites we found ourselves at KE Active Lifestyle which can be found by visiting http://kayserenterprises.ispeedway.com/ I wasn't long before we found a great camping tent that he liked and immediately asked if I would buy it.
I looked at a few different sites for reviews on the Eureka N!ergy 9 Tent and was convinced it was a great camping tent. I bought it from the KE Active Lifestyle website and saw that my son was more excited than ever about having his own camping tent. When it arrived he asked if he could try it out and set it up on the back lawn. Unfortunately, it was suppose to rain that night so he took it back down (it set up very easily), rolled it up, and packed it in his backpack. His smile was priceless. He really wanted to try out his new camping tent so my husband and he made plans for a small camping trip near the house.
They set out for their little excursion this past weekend and he was totally beside himself as he set up his own camping tent several yards from my husbands. The weekend started out fantastic. He caught two large trout from the river for dinner and even decided to cook them himself. It actually tasted great! But, from then on the weekend began to take a little bit different turn. After dinner, it was dark and started to rain a little. My son went into his camping tent for bed. About 30 minutes later it really down poured. Thirty seconds later he went rushing into my husbands tent soaked to the bone. It seems he put his camping tent in the path of a flash flood and his tent was flooded with water. It would need a few hours of drying it out so he decided he would sleep in my husbands for the night and not take any chances of more flooding! He's learning. |
