camping tent, camping gear Every couple of years, I go through the patio storage closet pulling out all of my camping gear to see what can be used for another season in the woods or desert and what as a one way ticket to the trash. Things like my camping tent normally wouldn’t have to be replaced but after a long night last time we were in the desert I need to either make some backyard camping tent fixes or just find a deal online. It had been a long day, riding dirt bikes and swimming in the lake adjacent to our campsite. Late at night when everyone was going to sleep one of my friends sat out by the camp fire sipping on a beer as we all went to sleep. Apparently, he wasn’t tired. When he did decide to come into the camping tent, right before bending over to unzip the front, he tripped on a root and flew face first into the tent. Two of us were sleeping in there when the canvas top came crashing down.

The fall ended up snapping one of the poles and slicing a part of the tent wall on what probably was a sharp rock when he was rolling off and we were yelling having no idea what just happened. No one got hurt. It made for a good story but now I need new camping gear.
